Need code(s) for DirecTV RC23 Remote

Post by rodgerkoopman »

1. Device: DirecTV RC23 remote
2. Type of device: remote
3. Year: 2006 (??)
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-8810
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? I made the JP1 cable and have IR.exe and RemoteMaster.jar working. I cannot find anywhere the codes that will allow me to assign the DirecTV RC23 remote functionality to my URC-8810 remote. I have tried learning all the commands but for some reason my 8810 does not want to learn. The only button I've been able to get to work is the Power On/Off button. None of the others learn (i.e., channel up/down, guide, etc.). Does anyone know by chance how to make this happen? Thanks.

Despite what you say here, I don't think you really want to control the RC23 remote, I think you're really looking to work the DirecTV unit itself, so this should really read...
1. Device: DirecTV {insert model number here}
2. Type of device: Satellite STB
You say that you checked the file section, if so, did you see this file...

DirecTV D10 SAT 1377 KM

I would be surprised if this doesn't work for you, plus there are a few more DTV files there that you can also try.

I saw those but didn't realize they might work with my remote. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the quick response.

Loaded the file, copied it to IR; works great. Thanks for the help.
