As I explained in the other thread, you need to give more info as your answer to question #10.
Your 15-2104 is a learning remote and you still have the original remote, so what's stopping you from capturing the signals yourself?10. Learning remote question?
If you don't have a learning JP1 remote or you no longer have the original OEM remote, just put "n/a" for this question.
However, if you do still have the original remote AND your UEI remote is a learning remote AND you have a JP1 cable, please state what is stopping you from capturing the signals yourself and using that data to create an upgrade? If you've tried and not had any success, please describe what problems you encountered.
If you've tried learning the buttons, but IR.exe doesn't display any useful info (eg, it lists some sort of "gap" protocol, or no protocol at all), please post a copy of the IR file that contains the learned signals in the Diagnosis Area, then post the template (and a link to the file) in the Protocol Decodes forum. This is where the experts really earn their stripes, as we'll try to decode the signals and create an upgrade to replicate them.

I didn't have enough memory, but by deleting some of the learned commands and uploading those devices I could by JP1, I was able to learn enough to make it work fine. I even have some learning memory left to fix problems I encounter. Thanks again, sorry if I have been a pain. The Robman wrote:As I explained in the other thread, you need to give more info as your answer to question #10.

It's not a question of "being a pain", we're trying to teach you how to get the most out of JP1. As you have a JP1 cable, you don't need to use learning to program devices anymore, you can use upgrades. As you've found, the learning memory is limited.Chris Gerhard wrote:I didn't have enough memory, but by deleting some of the learned commands and uploading those devices I could by JP1, I was able to learn enough to make it work fine. You say that your learning memory was already full, well all you need to do is save a backup of your current IR image, then delete all the learned signals (either through IR.exe or by doing a 981 reset), then you'll have enough learning memory to capture the first 25 to 30 buttons from the DVD remote. Once you've filled the learning memory again, you should download and save the IR file, then clear the memory and repeat the process until you have been able to capture all of the buttons on the DVD remote. Once you're done with the capture process, you can re-load the IR image that you saved at the beginning and your 15-2104 will be back to how it was when you started. You can then examine the signals that you learned by looking at the saved IR files using IR.exe. This should tell you what the protocol and device codes are, along with the OBCs for each button. You can then use this info to build an upgrade to control the DVD player.
