Need help with 15-2104
Using the remote control programmer trying to download from my remote I get this error message:
No definition file could be found for this remote (R6H0R6H0), so this data could not be interpreted for you. If that is saet correctly, you should download the most current RDF.zip from the Tools area of the JP1 Files section to see if an RDF your remote has been added.
As far as I know, I have downloaded the the most current RDF.zip and extracted it to the named directory. Does somebody have a clue what I may done wrong?

Yes, it is there and that is the only message I ever get when trying to download from the remote. I am also having difficulty loading the devices I want to control although each upload to remote command results in the remote red light coming on then going off. The Toshiba HD-A1 and Samsung BD-P1000 aren't being uploaded or at least uploaded correctly. With the Samsung BP1000 when loading the file to the Excel spreadsheet IR620, I get this message:Mark Pierson wrote:Can you verify that you have the R6H0R6H0 (RS 15-2104 6-In-One AV).rdf file in the folder specified in IR's File, Set Directory, RDF Path... command?
Do you get any other messages when attempting to download from the remote?
*** The Protocol Code below is REQUIRED for this Upgrade ***
Enter Device Codes and/or Raw Fixed Data (hex). Enter the Protocol ID and set the options in the Manual Settings table. Use the Notes section to enter any 3rd-Party Protocol Code.
I don't know what that means.
I really don't have anything worth downloading from the remote yet, but I have correctly loaded a couple of devices to the remote so I thought I would put the cart before the horse and download what I have been able to load to the remote to see if I can get some encouragement by having that part work. Getting the devices programmed would probably be a smarter step at this point, if I can't get that right, I don't care if I download the information from the remote and save it. I do know something I can do, walk outside and drop the remote on the sidewalk and jump up and down on it, that sounds like more fun at this point.

Be sure to DOUBLE CLICK the RDF folder when you select it, otherwise it doesn't work.Chris Gerhard wrote:I have done that. I don't always get that message but nothing ever happens.Nils_Ekberg wrote:IR does not know the folder even though you put it into the named folder.
Go into IR on the file menu, Set Directory, RDF Path and select the correct path

Did you get the RDF issue sorted out? If so, what was the problem, was it because you weren't double clicking the folder name?
A Google search told me that Samsung BD-P1000 is a BluRay DVD player. Is this the upgrade that you are using...

If so, this upgrade requires that you copy BOTH the device upgrade AND the protocol upgrade, are you doing so?

Just FYI, you're supposed to copy the protocol from the box below the device upgrade as it will sometimes be different to the code in the Notes box.

I had copied the protocol from the box below the device upgrade but hadn't copied the 3rd party protocol to the notes box. It didn't start working until I did both. All seems fine, so I am assuming it is all ok. I am a plug and crank JP1 user, not much understanding of why or how, I just try to follow directions. The Robman wrote:Just FYI, you're supposed to copy the protocol from the box below the device upgrade as it will sometimes be different to the code in the Notes box.

The 3rd party protocol and the generated protocol are always going to be exactly the same, unless KM needs to edit it for some reason, in which case the code in the Notes section will be incorrect and the generated code will be correct.Chris Gerhard wrote:I had copied the protocol from the box below the device upgrade but hadn't copied the 3rd party protocol to the notes box. Well, I am rocking and rolling now, just trying to get a second 15-2104 programmed for the master bedroom. I have Samsung SIR-T165, DirecTV HR20-700, Mitsubishi HS-HD1100U VCR, and Philips 30" CRT HDTV working fine. I can't get the DVD player, a Malata HVD-1800 as nothing I have found works. Does anybody have any idea or is their a place to request a new device?

Did you try all the Malata DVD player upgrades? http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... y&cat_id=5
Did any of these give you any functions?

Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
