akai tv code needed

3. Year: 2006
4. JP1/UEI model: URC-8811B00
5. JP1 Cable?: Yes
6. Original Remote?: Yes
7. Ck'd file section?: Yes
8. Ck'd Pronto section?: Yes
9. Partially working code?: No
10. Learning remote?: n/a

UEI sent me several code #s to try, but none are in the remote. Thanks for any help!

The 8811 is most certainly a learning remote. So what is preventing you from learning and decoding the necessary codes?

You can then either narrow in on one of the upgrades Rob pointed to above, and not waste your time testing those with different Protocols and/or Device numbers, or if testing a bunch of upgrades is too tedious (which would be for me) then simply build your own upgrade from the learned signals.

Seems to me that would be the simplest and quickest solution.

I would start with upgrade #3 (according to the model cross-reference list that I posted in the comments section of that file).

Thanks guys, I am totally new at this. UEI offered to install the codes if I send the unit back to them, but I think I will have more fun learning something new! I installed the new tv, dvd, satilite, etc. in the wife's "workout" room, but she won't use them cuz she won't play with 3 or 4 remotes, so I gotta learn fast! Thanks for the help!
