Hi,
It's often mentioned here that you should disable the extender if you want to "learn" signals from an OEM remote. Then build the learned codes into a new configuration and re-enable the extender.
What's the easiest way to disable the extender? Can it be done with a keypress on the remote itself? Does it require hooking up the JP1 cable and computer?
I have the 15-2117, recently installed Extender 3 on it.

Presuming you have already saved your current IR file, remove a battery, press any key, re-insert the battery, and conduct an MFR reset. Do your learning and decoding, then re-upload your IR image (presumably modified with your new device).

Or, if you saved the IR image from before the extender, just upload that.
