Dish 942 for OFA 8811

Post by Cybershaolin »

1. Device: Dishnetwork 942 DVR
2. Type of device: Satellite DVR
3. JP1 Remote model: 8811
4. JP1 user? yes
5. Still have original remote? No
6. Checked the file section? Yes and found devices but for different remotes
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes and did not find a match
8. Partially working setup code? yes Sat/1755
9. It works partially because I had a PVR 501 before and the codes were assigned for that receiver. when I tried a 625 code files found here, all my buttons were re-assigned and do not really correspond anymore to the remote buttons. Just one example: I mean something like Guide is not the Guide button on the remote anymore. I'd like to have a Guide as Guide, PIP button to work as a PIP button, SWAP as SWAP, Move as Move etc.
10- N/A

How do I achieve this? What is the closest code? Do I need special things to do. English is not my first language so please  and I have trouble to understand everything on this site. There is so much information! I saw things Device Combiner, etc but I'm not sure how to use this.

JP1 upgrades can be edited using KM or RM. These tools let you change the selected remote and re-arrange the buttons to suit your tastes.

You're probably better off starting with the 921 upgrade that is around and not the 625. The 921 was another HD DVR, the 625 is just SD so some of the functions aren't probably in there.
