Reset on a URC-7650?

Hi,

Just getting started. Got some mixed results - so I decided to send 'initialise to $FF' from IR (to clear another old device that I think was on the unit). But that's killed it. I still get a double flash from the TV button on the URC-7650 when I download, but all other device lights and functions are inoperative - it just seems to be dead. Tried sending the 'initialise to $00', reading through these forums, searching, and just plain trying things by pulling the batteries, etc.... but to no avail.

Does anyone know the RESET key sequence on a URC-7650? or some way of performing a reset? (can't find it in the manual either!)

Or can anyone point me at something that might help?

Thanks for that Rob,

But I couldn't get any of the methods to work for me. The URC-7650 falls into your category 1)...but no luck.

I'm mostly sure it is still alive as I still get two flashes from the 'TV' button on reconnecting the battery, and after a download from IR. But I get no lights or action from any button after that...

Do you have any buttons trapped in the "pushed down" position? The 981 reset is the correct way to reset this remote, so your problem is not in finding the correct way to reset it, but in finding why the remote is not responding.

Did you save the IR image before you loaded all $FFs into it? Have you tried re-loading that image?

I can't explain my stupidity. I did take an image before I started messing - but for some reason I didn't try it before I pronounced death on the remote.

I have now re-loaded the original IR image - and can report a miraculous recovery from the grave.
