IRClone -> CCF2MX -> DecodeCCF -> KM -> IR ->

Post by bigmoguls »

The only learning remote I have is a HTM MX500. I can download the codes using the IRCLONE. Can I then go from CCF2MX to decode CCF to KM to IR to upload learned codes to my Atlas DVR remote?

I don't see anything in the readme or the gui of CCF2MX that even hints it can read IR signals from the MX file or write them to a CCF file. Its purpose is going the other way.

If you want to know more about CCF2MX, ask in an appropriate forum.

If you can extract the signals in Pronto Hex or write them to a CCF file then we can tell you how to get them the rest of the way.

I played with CCF2MX for a few minutes and changed my mind. I think you can use it.

So far as I can tell, it can't translate to Pronto Hex nor can it write to CCF files. But it looks like it can read MX% text files and extract the individual IR codes and display them in "MX-500 IR Code" format.

I'm not certain of any of that, because I don't have an MX-500 nor any files for it.

But since it can convert in the other direction it was easy to put in known samples of Pronto Hex and thus see the "MX-500 IR Code" format for known signals. That made it trivial to understand that format.

I don't have time to write programs for this, but given IR codes in that format I could tell you what they are. It would probably be easiest if you email the whole file to the address in my profile.

Or maybe not.

The files you can get from here:
http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/fi ... area=mx500

Have a .m5 extension and no obvious relationship to the .txt files read and written by CCF2MX.

If the file you get from your MX-500 with IRClone is one of those .m5 files, I have no clue what to do with it.

I only have an idea what to do if you have an MX-500 text file that CCF2MX can open.

Thanks for the response.

I think I'll poke around on remotecentral and play around with some of my IRCLONE databases.
