I just purchased a radio shack 15-2137 universal remote and had it setup to work with Marantz SR7200 receiver. However, it does not have the component type input switch available (e.g. DVD, CD, DSS, etc.) to allow switching between different components for sound output. I am still learning how to program the remote. Does anyone know how I could program the remote to include the input switch function?

This is a continuation of this thread...

Thanks Smile

Welcome to this forum. Did you get the DVR functions (from your post in remotecentral.com) to work? I should have asked you first which device code you have set for the that, and if you have tried all of them.

As for the receiver, I'll ask the same question; what device code did you set it on, and did you try all of the listed ones?

No, I have not tried all the listed device codes for Marantz receivers...I will try them out. Thanks.

From what I've seen on these forums, and my own experience, the inputs often are found on the number keys. As you try all of the setup codes, be sure and check those for your inputs.

It would be easier to provide you with detailed recommendations if you would use the mandatory template in the "Number 1 Code Search FAQ", linked in my sig below. Not knowing what setup code you are using makes it a bit harder to do so.

This file is an upgrade for your exact receiver. It has discrete input commmands. This upgrade uses the RC-5/5X combo protocol, used by built-in setup codes AUDIO/1089 and 1189, but the device codes are not identical.

It's also possible to generate about 2/3 of your device's signals using the RC-5 protocol, used in AUDIO/0189 (or possibly 0222 or 0269). I'm not sure whether the setup code you are using will support adding those commands via advanced code (EFC). If you're using AUDIO/1089 or 1189, here is the list of 5-digit EFCs:

Code:
EFC   Functions
31289   num 0
31293   num 1
31281   num 2
31285   num 3
31273   num 4
31277   num 5
31265   num 6
31269   num 7

29273   TrebleUp
29277   TrebleDn
29361   S. Direct

31405   Stereo/Mono
31389   Memo
31381   Preset Scan
31373   FM

37573   Input: CD
08901   Input: CDR/MD
60756   AUX
60820   DVD
03364   A/D
03332   6 CH IN
27684   Power On
27668   Power Off
35892   Mute On
35876   Mute Off
19508   Display
36404   Multi-Room
37172   Dolby/Prologic
39268   Test Tone
33060   Ch. select
33044   Ch Up
33028   Ch Down
33188   Dolby
33172   Night
33172   Night Mode
33156   ATT
33252   Auto
33236   DTS
35236   6-Stereo
35284   CS 5.1
35284   CS Mus
35268   DSP
60724   PL2-mov
60708   PL2-mus
60692   CS Cine
60726   AF

Depending on what setup code you are using, most of those codes should work (except likely the last one).

If you are using a different setup code, the EFCs might be different.

It would be really easy if you used JP1, but pending development of the rdf for the 2137, I'm not sure what more you can do or try.
