Hi all, very new to this, trying to read everything I could, also did many searches and could not come up wit ha solution…
I just purchased the 9910 with extender, JP1 cable, and downloaded all the software…
IR.exe
RDF Files
RM (RemoteMaster)
Also went and downloaded the Device Upgrades files for the following devices..
DirecTV D10 SAT 1377 KM
Sony STR-DA3000ES.rmdu
Bravo D1 DVD-DivX player
InFocus SP4805
Most seem to work, I had to change some keys around for the InFocus and some of the keys were setup weird on the bravo D1…
My main issue is that I cannot get the remote to control my Sony receiver/Amp. I downloaded the files, load them to my remote with the other upgrades… and nothing, nada… I have changed different settings, like Sony15 check boxes and other random stuff and nothing works.
Anyone else had this issue, or have an idea of how to proceed?
I was so excited to get my new remote, then more excited to get my JP1 cable so I could use it! Then this, so been using my old one for now. Sad=\
Any help would be great, thanks!

Are you sure its not operating the receiver? I took a look at the file and there is no power toggle in it for the power button. Just the discretes and when you change to the 9910 you need to remap them. If that is the case and you want the power toggle you can learn it with the 9910 to see what the efc is for it. Then add it to the file to upload to the remote.
i noticed that also, in the file, the discretes power thing. Read a bit about that on this site...
To test it I turned on the amp and tried volume, and other settings, the receiver doesn't take any commands from the remote.
I used the learning feature with the remote to see if that would work atleast and it does. But for some reason the Update once uploaded doesnt do anything.
hmmm, ponders
Edit:
Below is what is in the rmdu file... it says Remote.name=RS 15-2117, but I changed that in the RM program and made sure all the keys were mapped, least I think I did.
Still stumped.

Most of the newer Sony products come set for AV2 while upgrades tend to be AV1. The easiest thing to do might be to switch the mode on the receiver and see if the upgrade works. (Sony 12/15 dev1-16 dev2-144 as shown in your listing of commands is AV1) You can change the upgrade from AV1 to AV2. I think AV2 is Sony20, dev16, subdev16 which requires a different protocol: Sony 12/15/20 instead of Sony 12/15.
Changing the receiver AV mode is done by holding the "input" button down and pressing the "Power" button. The unit will cycle between AV1 and AV2. It's on page 59 of the Sony Owner's manual.
Which 4805 upgrade did you download? Whenever you change the remote type to prepare an upgrade to match the remote that you are using there can be the need to remap some buttons. Rob's was a pretty generic InFocus (KM) while mine (RM) was specific to the 4805.

Just call me Zaphod (or Steve) --- I never should have started using numbers in a screen name but I just can't stop now.
Hi, sorry to for the delayed reply!
firstly thanks whompus, you lead me in the right direction with the device key. The old rmdu had a different device number. You mentioned 16, which sadly didn't work, but 48 did, so got that all working!
zaphod7501, thanks for the info, I didn't try to mess with the av1/av2 thing, but had the remote working so didn't mess to much with it.
I downloaded your RMDU of Infocus 4805. I remapped it to suit me a bit better, but mostly was all mapped nicely for me. Thanks!
This forum is great, nice to have complete control of your devices.
I am getting used to this remote a bit, it was an adjustment for sure. Think the only thing I miss from my old remote (URC8820) is the "shows CC" button for my recorded DVR, but went and mapped "fav" button to it, since I don't use favorite channel button ever.
Still fiddling with some keys, but getting there.
Thanks for the advice and this forum.
