I didn't mean to trigger a lot of effort to save upgrade space that you probably don't need to save . I just wanted to know if you had a real reason for wanting some of the signals to be NEC1.
If you tested with NEC2 and some buttons had problems with long presses then that is convincing.

I uploaded updated KM for TVISTO upgrade for ReplayTV 5000 remote.
Almost all key codes are identified with exception of Home, Pictures, Setting, Slow, Angle, Repeat, Repeat A-B, Thumbnails, Rotate, DVD title, DVD Menu and Shuffle. http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3735

Were you unable to find those keys in your testing? Are you condifent that you know what mode the player needs to be in in order for those keys to work, and would you know what the response would look like for all of them?MajorWoody wrote:Almost all key codes are identified with exception of Home, Pictures, Setting, Slow, Angle, Repeat, Repeat A-B, Thumbnails, Rotate, DVD title, DVD Menu and Shuffle.

Certain playback keys will require particular file type to be present on TVISTO. In order to test DVD playback keys I will prepare ISO file and continue with my testing. At the present time 80% of all necessary playback keys are available
.
GetIR build failed due to absence of zener diode with correct voltage spec. I ordered all parts for CaptureIR and GetIR from Mouser.

I recorded timings from TVISTO remote http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3794 with help from CaptureIR utility.
I think CaptureIR learning is most preferable way of learning from other remotes.
I wounder why 9910 was unable to learn from tvisto remote?

Did you notice the number of frames reported by CaptureIR for each decode? That is interesting. I don't think I've seen that behavior before, though it seems like you dealt with it well enough in your upgrade.
We've seen a few devices before that do NEC2 for signals that should repeat and NEC1 for those that shouldn't. And those rules seem to work for your upgrade.
But your actual signals simply don't repeat for those signals that shouldn't repeat. They are single frame NEC with neither the NEC1 repeat system nor the NEC2 repeat system.
So far as I know, we don't have support for that. Luckily you don't seem to need it.
Typically remotes don't distinguish at all between functions that should repeat and those that shouldn't. They use the same repeat rules for all. Then the device receiving the signal makes the distinction.

We don't, but fortunately, as the device is just looking for NEC2 signals, it won't recognize the NEC1 trailer signal and will ignore it.johnsfine wrote:So far as I know, we don't have support for that. Luckily you don't seem to need it.
I don't have any good explanation at to why the URC-9910 couldn't learn those signals, as it appears from the captures that the original remote is sending perfectly good signals. Normally, a remote like the URC-9910 would be more than capable of learning such signals.
John, this is the first time I've seen the output from CaptureIR. I notice that the ON times don't have a "+" sign in front of them. Would it be possible to add the "+" sign as it would make decoding bi-phase signals alot easier.

I find the +'s make it less readable and I guess I don't manualy decode bi-phase the same way you do (because the +'s wouldn't help me).
Also, I think Greg and I agreed that RMIR would also drop those +'s. I think that discussion was public and got no dissent. But of course you can still insert your opinion.
If it's a big deal for you in CaptureIR, I think I can easily add a preferences item. Of course that wouldn't affect users who post CaptureIR saved files. I prefer not having the +'s.
(I also haven't looked at saved output from CaptureIR before. I only look at it in CaptureIR itself).

When I have to decode a bi-phase signal by hand, I do a global edit to convert all of the (let's say) "+600" times into "+300 +300" and all of the "-600" times into "-300 -300", without the "+" sign it would be alot harder.
It's not a big deal to me with regards to CaptureIR as I can't use it, but if RMIR were to replace IR and it were to drop them, it would be a problem for me. Basically, I would be forced to stick with the last version of IR.exe But then again, as I can't run Java apps during the day, I guess I'll have to keep a version of IR around anyway.
