This is the ir file that contains the two decodes that I can't get to work.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=3780

It Contains two learned signals, (Enter and Menu) that I seem to be entering wrong in KM.

Menu=Analog\Digital
Enter=Period (.)

This is the KM upgrade that does not work for those two functions.

Thank You, Jack

Check the Protocol Help sheet. Since your OBC's are greater than 63, the following applies:

Quote:
However, you will only have access to OBC's 0 - 63. In order to access OBC's in the range 64 - 127, you will need to add 100 to the device code entered.

Thank you Mark, I think I understand. I think you're saying I need to change device code no, 3, which is 3, to 103. I'll look at the protocol help sheet to see if I can learn something new. I thought that device code # 2 which is 100 was enough. I'll read and experiment. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction and probably telling me exactly what to do.

Mark, after pondering your advice I realized that I needed 2 device codes, and 2 sub devices. I made a new upgrade in RM using the RC5\RC5X protocol.

Everything is working well except 2 functions assigned to the Aux device. The first link will be the IR file containing the 2 learned functions in question.

The second link is the RM file where those two functions are mapped to F FWD and F REW, as auto sound and auto picture.

I appreciate any help you, or anyone else can give me. Thanks, Jack

RC5 doesn't use sub-device codes. I think you are saying that you need to use the complete range of OBCs for 2 device codes, does that sound correct?

Unfortunately, I can only look at KM files during the day, so I can't look at your RM file to see what you might have done wrong.

Yes Robman, I need to use all OBC's for device 0, and 3 and the RC5\RC5X allowed me to do that...Jack

I'm not sure that you are using the RC5/RC5X combo protocol correctly. RC-5 and RC-5X are two different protocols.

Read the protocol notes on the RM Setup page carefully. In this combo protocol, you can mix ANY NUMBER of RC-5 device numbers, and there is no weird stuff to be done regarding OBCs </> 64. You just enter the Device number and OBC directly on the Functions page. ADDITIONALLY you can cover up to FOUR RC-5X Device numbers. If all of your decodes are RC-5 (and NONE are RC-5X), then you should not enter ANYTHING on the Setup page for the four possible RC-5X devices.

All of your RC-5 Device codes simply get typed into the "RC5 Device" column on your functions sheet. So if all of your decodes were either RCs device 0 or RC5 device 3, then you should have only 0's and 3's in that column - no 2's and 4's.

Those RC5X devices on the Setup page are invoked by a selection in the RC5X device column on the functions page, which should not apply at all in your circumstance.

Capn Trips, I did what you said and every function is working now. I knew I didn't need RC5X, but I needed all of the RC5 OBC's for device's 0 and 3, that's why I chose that protocol.

I wish I had understood the protocol notes correctly...(I read them several times!). Thanks a million, Jack
