transferring downloaded update into RM
Moderator: Moderators
Am I right.....
Am I right, first, open up RM and go to a page that contains both keys and protocol windows and launch Notepad and load the .TXT file then do a copy of the whole thing on the notepad then switch to RM and paste the data from the clipboard into the window and will fill in automatically right? if so then I'll be happy with it.
transferring downloaded update into RM
Hello, I'm so curious, how do I transfer the downloaded update(s) that I downloads from a remote into RM (Remote Master) so I could edit the update like moving the keys into ones that I'm comfortable to use?
Thanks!
Thanks!

It's a one way street. The only two way street in the hobby is between IR and the remote.
The summary of IR files goes like this:
IR> remote
remote> IR
Summary of KM/RM files:
Keymap Master> IR> your remote; You can't go in the reverse
Remote Master> IR> your remote; You can't go in the reverse
The simple way to do what you're asking is manually. If your research turns up zero info about the remote you want to clone then get a JP1 learner like the URC8811 and go from there.
Good luck!

Well thanks John. I thought I had seen that before. Don't think it's that I'm getting old. I always watch movies 3 or 4 times to catch the whole thing too. Is that a sign if genius?johnsfine wrote:That used to be true. But no longer.
Try that link Greg posted. Notice the detailed instruction under "Import Raw Upgrade" in the page reached by that link.
