I tried to load a RM file for my URC 8910 remote to IR and I get the message "invalid character in input". I have looked at it several times and can not find the problem. Here is my rm file.

Problem opening RM file with IR
Moderator: Moderators
Your own subject line pretty much give your answer.
An RM file is meant to be opened with RM (what we call RemoteMaster.jar to save on typing). It isn't meant to be opened with ir.exe
After any editing (rearrange button assignments etc.) you want to do in RM, there is a way for RM to copy the internal form of the upgrade onto the Windows clipboard.
After loading IR.exe with a valid eeprom image (such as by downloading from your remote), you can paste the clipboard contents as a new device in the appropriate tab of IR, merging it into your eeprom image (for later upload bact to the remote).

Instructions for how to do that can be found at http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/help/rm.shtml#5
