Short Version: I need a replacement for the IR LED on an RCU810 (A).
Long Version: I have an RCU 810 (A) this remote has an issue with resetting randomly and a solution is to connect pins 1 and 5 on the JP1 when you don't have it hooked up to the computer. I was building this connector and Stupid me I stuck the excess wire in empty pin hole #3 while I was making the battery cover fit. Soon I realized that the remote was starting to get hot and that there was a slight burning smell coming from the remote. DOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!!! I fried a diode burnt the circuit board. I replaced the diode and jumpered over the bad traces ta da it worked I went to bed. Next day I try to use the remote again no control the screen works and everything. Somehow the IR LED died. I thankfully have two RCU810's so I de-soldered and re-soldered in the good LED I know that's the problem.
What I need to know is where Can I find a replacement what do I need to look for. I both transmits and recieves IR (learning remote ) So can anyone help me. It only has 2 posts and looks like a light blue plastic 5 mm LED. I'm tired now and depressed I really don't want to spend another $25 on another remote.
Thanks for your help.
