Need help with Score System Selector Pro

Just unzip all of the rdf files into a sub-folder (say "rdf") to where all of your JP1 tools are. Then ensure IR "knows" where your rdf files are (File>Set directory>...).

It should work OK then.

You also need to have the latest version of decodeIR.dll in your system directory or in the same directory as IR.exe.

If you still have trouble, even if IR can't decode the download, you can save the learned IR file and post it here to the diagnostic section and provide a link in this thread and someone will decode it for you.

OK. I went ahead and extracted all the RDFs to a sub-folder and redirected IR to look there. Now I don't get an error message when I download from the 8811. However, I don't see where I can find the code I "taught" it.

Using the "Teach" sticky, I assigned to change "change to switch 2" action to the 8811 keypad number "2". When I press the number "2" the video selector changes to the 2nd video selection.

Where do I look to see what code I have taught it and what is my next step once I know what it is? Thanks

Do you see a tab called "Learned Signals" when you view your URC-8811 data using IR? If so, what do you see when you click on it?

I realize that here in the beginner's forum "there is no such thing as a stupid question" and we have been trying to help you step-by-step throughout, BUT...

Have you actually READ the "Beginners - Read this thread first" sticky post? (linked at the bottom of my sig) The reason I ask is that you are seemingly regressing to pretty basic questions.

In particular, the fact that you had a learning remote in your posession throughout would have made this entire process MUCH easier, simpler, and faster. It takes about 10 minutes to learn all of the commands from your OEM remote to the learner, another 10 minutes to decode/record them, and another 15-20 ,minutes to build the upgrade you WANT from them in KM or RM.

Even if you had to "learn" how to learn, and decode, and build, this would have taken a matter of hours, not the days you have expended on this so far.

You should unzip the zip file into a folder, then tell IR what folder contains all the RDFs (File -> Set Directory -> RDF Path...). Then download from the remote. IR will pick the right RDF automatically.

I apologize for causing anyone any extra work. I just thought it would be a simple matter to install the correct device upgrade and be done with it. I see now that I was wrong and hope to be forgiven.

(and yes, I've read the docs several times)

I have uploaded the IR file from my "learning" sessions

I didn't see a tab called "Learned Signals" when I downloaded the learned code from the remote. I assigned the actions as follows

1 - change to video 1
2 - change to video 2
3 - change to video 3
4 - change to video 4
5 - change to video 5
6 - change to video 6
0 - on/off

After resetting the RDF file path, I do get a "Learned Signal" tab in IR. I see that most of the numbers have signals assigned to them. I assume the ones that have two entries are probably the reult of me hitting the video selector remote buttn numerous times.

Hopefully, it isn't too much further until I can create a upgrade for this device and get out of everyone's hair. Thanks

Is that really what you did? The correct learning method is to hold the teaching remote button down until the learning remote has captured the signal.

Try this upgrade in your URC-6131...

Just curious, I tried making my own upgrade file per the docs. Here it is

It looks like you entered a sub-device code of 5 rather than 255.

I want to thank both you and Capn Trips for your help. I know it gets tedious answering the same questions and wondering why people can't read the manuals.

I hope to do better on my next project which is trying to get my remote programmed to control two different Tivos in the same room.

I'm off to search the old messages and hope that this effort will be easier than the last.

Assuming your Tivos are not Sony models, download the Tivo Master upgrade, then change the unit code to the value of your choice. When the unit code is 0, the upgrade will work all Tivos. When the unit code is a number between 1 and 15, it will control Tivos that are programmed to respond to that unit code (and Tivos programmed to respond to unit code 0).
