Possible source for the code I need to control my Acer LCD?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

Possible source for the code I need to control my Acer LCD?

Post by nevada4516 »

I just found this JP1 file in the device upgrades thread and sent the following message to the author. In case he can't respond does anyone know if the code is perhaps buried in the text of the file?

Hi. I noticed that you posted a file to control an Acer LCD t.v. I don't know anything about these JP1 files yet and before attempting to do anything fancy with my remote I would just like to find and enter a code which would enable my remote to do a couple of basic things. Actually I would be happy if I could at least control the volume on my ACER LCD AT3201W using the ATLAS PVR remote that came with my MOTOROLA DCT6412 PVR. Unfortunately the T.V. is so new that there are no codes listed for it in the manual or on the support site www.urcsupport.com and since you wrote a program for the T.V. I thought you might know the code I need. Your help would be greatly appreciated, thankyou.

The code is not "buried in the text of the file" is *IS* the file. TO use this file you will need to not only read up on JP1 and find out what it is, but you will also need a JP1 cable to load the code into your remote.

As you have a remote with the jp1 capability you sure need a cable.

I think you can for the mean time use the 9 9 4 commands for keymoves. And keymove the 3 vol efc,s from the file in the upgrade area against build in audio code 0420 to get vol and mute to work.

Audio/0420 uses NEC1 device code 134.97 whereas the Acer TV upgrade file uses NEC1 device code 97.99, so that won't work.

Rob will for sure know more about this then me.

I do remember there was some audio code sending unexpected signals to an acer tv here. I think it was 0420 but could very well be wrong.

It's possible the TV responds to more than one code set, I was just pointing out that the two codes don't match.
