How do I create a new upgrade file?

Post by Julie5040 »

Ok guys,

It's been awhile since I've had to mess with my 15-2117's... I just moved into a new place and there is an AVIA DVD player and a Theater Innovations sound system that is part of my lease, but I cannot control them with the RS remotes. I looked through the list of upgrades (JP1-Upgrades.xls) and do not see either of the brands listed. I do have the original remotes that seem to work fine, but would really like to get the 2117 working with everything!

What do I need to do to create an upgrade file? Is this something that I can do myself (through remote learning?) Is this somthing that is even technically possible for a layman like me?

Thanks!!

2117 is a learning remote according to http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2981, so yes, use learning to make upgrades.

Upgrades already built, perhaps you will find what you need or something similar on which you can base your upgrades

Liz,

Thanks for the info, but I'm confused... I assume that I pick any DVD code and then learn all the buttons? Then what do I do to create an upgrade file?

Thanks,
Julie

Never mind, it just occurred to me that IR has a learning tab that will display what it learned and then I should be able to go into the km spreadsheet and create the file... I think some of this is coming back to me, I'll give it a shot in the morning.
