URC 8820

Post by donpickett »

I have been using various OFA remotes for several years and have lurked here and at the old Yahoo site quite a bit. I am currently using an 8811 that I have programmed pretty extensively. It is currently in the process of dieing on me ( buttons are physically wearing out and no longer functioning).

The 8820 seems to be the newer model that is most similar to my 8811 but I am curious wether it is JP1 compatible. it is not listed on the spreadsheet of URC remotes so I ask the members:

Is the URC 8820 JP1 compatible?

Thanks,

Don

It's a JP1.2 remote which means it's not compatible with the current JP1 process. We are, however, working very hard to try and support these new remotes also, but so far UEI has (politely) declined to help us with it, so we're on our own.

Rob,

Thanks for a rapid response. Guess I will limp along on my oldie for now or move over to an 8910.
