Dear friends,
I recently purchased a used Samsung TV w/o the remote. I checked with the TV/0060 code on my URC-8910 and it powered on/off. Even the vol+/- and Ch+/- buttons work. But I can't seem to find the Auto Program button to program the channels from the cable.
I checked the devices.xls for all Samsung TV codes (0060, 0030, 0019, 0178) but couldn't see any button called Auto Program. Here are the details of my TV/remote -
# Device: Samsung TXB1940 (19" CRT)
# Type of device: 19" TV
# Year: 1995
# JP1 Remote model: URC-8910
# JP1 user? Yes
# Still have original remote? no
# Checked the file section? Yes
# Checked the Pronto file section (at R/C)? No
# Partially working setup code? TV/0060
# Learning remote question? n/a
I checked a few online stores and they seem to have remotes that have Auto Program button and work for all Samsung TVs till 2002, so I am guessing the EFC code is well-known. Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rex

There are 20 upgrade files for Samsung TVs in the file section, and I'm willing to bet that at least one of them has the code for the button in question. Just check that they use the same device code and protocol as what was shown for TV/0060 in devices.xls. (Don't worry about different versions of the NEC protocol).

Did you look in advanced code section for 0060. It has 2 that say auto program. 087 for 1 and 023 for 2
Robman : I did see those Samsung files in files section but didn't try those thinking they are for recent models & wouldn't work for me. I probably should have tried those. Next time I'll try everything possible before I post a question
Whompus : No, I didn't. Your link did the trick, Auto Prog 1 is the right key
Thanks a million !

You're more than welcome to post questions, I was just trying to show you where you might find an answer. Normally, I would just look myself and post the code if I found it, but I didn't have time to look.rexian wrote:Robman : I did see those Samsung files in files section but didn't try those thinking they are for recent models & wouldn't work for me.
