I just got this system for my kids on ebay and it didn't come with a remote. Now, I don't know for sure that it is even remote controllable, but there does appear to be an IR window and at least some of the functions are controlled using soft buttons, so it could be remote controllable.

Anybody got any ideas?

Also, this thing needs a new stylus (needle) for the turntable. I noticed that the stylus is swappable with the one that's in another cheap combo unit that I have (an SounDesign 6822, from 1982), so it appears to be a generic part and not specific to Samsung. The stylus is pictured below. Anybody know where I can get one?

Don't know Samsung mini-system remote codes, but..

try THIS SITE for phonograph needles. If they don't have it, it likely doesn't exist!

If 1295 is the same as the upgrade files for Samsung HTs in the file section, then yes, otherwise no. But I would expect that if there is a UEI code for this, that it would be an old code rather than a new one, as the unit is 12 years old. I'll look into this deeper when I get back from vacation.

Yeah 1295 is one of the ht in file section.

So it is old enough it may be f12 protocol.

Give protocol f12 dev 6 a try with power efc = 242 a go to see if it powers it.

I have a list here for f12 audio that just show power, play, pause, vol up and vol down. Also with 4 unknowns that if it is for that type device the unknowns may be for cd, phono, tape, and tuner.

UPDATE: I asked UEI about this also and they sent me RCVR/0112 which works.

Upgrade is here:

I've also emailed a couple of web sites about the stylus and it appears that I need part number 793-D7 which goes for around $15.

It's taken me a while to figure out how to set the clock on this unit as it didn't come with a manual, but we've figured it out, so I thought I'd post it here just in case someone else finds this thread in a search.

1) First, you press the front panel CLOCK and MEMORY buttons (at the same time)
2) Then you can use the UP and DOWN buttons to change the minutes or the hours.
3) Press MEMORY again when you're done to enter the new time.

Also found something about replacing the turntable belt:
remove clip securing turntable at shaft. then remove turntable..place belt around deck . pull towards outer edge, there is a small clip on the underside near outer edge.
place turntable back on deck. with belt (at streched point) aligned with motor shaft. drop down onto motor and deck , rotate turntable clock wise until you here a click then put back on clip securing deck
