Panasonic DVD-F85 Remote Codes Needed.

Post by cyclop »

I’m looking for codes that will work with JP1 remote. I’m aware of the fact that this DVD player works with standard codes, but some pushbuttons are missing. I specifically need codes for Disk Change and Audio Only push buttons. I’m using RCU810 Remote. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please use the standard template for code search requests as it will cut down on the many predicatable questions that we will otherwise need to ask you.

So filling in the template, here's what we know:

1. Device: Panasonic DVD-F85

2. Type of device: DVD player

3. Year: ???

4. JP1 Remote model: RCU-810

5. JP1 user? (ie, do you have a JP1 cable) ???

6. Still have original remote? (yes/no) ???

7. Checked the file section? (no or link to file(s)) ???
Answering "Yes" implies that you checked the file section and didn't find any files for your device (or similar models of the same brand). If you DID find an upgrade, please provide a link to the file, even if the upgrade doesn't work, just so we can rule it out. If there are upgrade files available for your brand, even if the model numbers are different, please try them and specify whether they worked or not in your post. Although there are 20 Panasonic DVD files here to look at.
8. Checked the Pronto file section (at R/C)? (no or link to file(s)) ???
Answering "Yes" implies that you checked the file section and didn't find any files for your device (or similar models of the same brand). If you DID find a CCF file, please provide a link to the file, even if the upgrade doesn't work, just so we can rule it out.
9. Partially working setup code? Apparently "YES"
If you have found a setup code that controls some functions, even if it's only one or two butons, PLEASE STATE what the setup code is (eg, VCR/1234), and what part works or doesn't work.

10. Learning remote question? (n/a or explanation) ??? (although SOME would know that the RCU810 is in fact a LEARNING REMOTE)
If your JP1 remote is a learning remote and you do have the original remote, PLEASE EXPLAIN what is preventing you from using learning to capture the signals and then you building an upgrade yourself. Answers such as "I'm too lazy" will result in your post being ignored. (If you're too lazy to help yourself, we're too lazy to help you also). REMEMBER, we're here to help but you have to be willing to help yourself too.

So, presumably, you can learn the signal(s) in question from your OEM remote - which I presume you have - and decode them with your JP1 cable - which I presume you have - and you can build your own upgrade

Or, if you look through the files I point you to above, you will find that the EFCS you seek are:

162 Disc
209 Audio Only

You could further find a few other functions of interest:

022 Discrete On
026 Discrete Off
185 Open/Close (apparently not found on some OEM remotes)

(But that's only if you read the sticky posts and use the template)

If it's device 176, few other worth trying in addition those that Capn mentioned:
Open/Close 176.0.0 (obc=0 efc=181, hex=FF)
Audio 176.0.154 or 176.0.51

Disc change - also try obc 136, 164, 235 but they don't come from 176, so unlikely to work.
