I recall some time ago discussions on how to program the remote to skip 1 minute ahead.
I now have a Motorola DVR and want to do this with my 8910. Does some one remember how to do this?
Tx.

It's basically just a macro, using some number of "pause" functions - built using the Pause Special Protocol (availiable in both RM and KM). So the macro would be:
FF>Pause>Pause>Play
(you set the duration of your Pause and figure out by trial and error how many iterations of the Pause you need to get the 1 minute skip you desire.)
Of course, depending on your DVR, the sequence may vary. For example, I use:
FF>FF>FF>FF>Pause>Pause>Play on my Sky+ DVR, since each press of FF increases the FF speed up to a maximum of 30x (at 2X, I'd need a LOT more Pauses)

Here are my notes for the 30 sec skip for use on the remote that comes with the 6412:e34m5 wrote:I recall some time ago discussions on how to program the remote to skip 1 minute ahead.

1. Press the "cable" button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode.
2. Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks twice.
3. Type in the code 994. The "Cable" button will blink twice.
4. Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button.
5. Type in the code 00173 for the 30 second skip.
6. Press whatever button on the remote you want to map the skip function to. (I used the lock button).
I did this and then learned it to my 8811. I don't have my KM file with me now, but I can post the EFC/OBC later if you want it.

Be aware that some firmware revisions and/or software used (such as Microsoft's used in Washington state) do not support the 30-second skip command.
You can use a macro to chain multiple skips together for longer times, although it doesn't work well given the DCT series poor response times for remote codes.
