Samsung HPR5072 EFC codes
Have successfully programmed my AllForOne 8910, except for one code.
The "Source" remote button scrolls through the input sources (TV, HDMI, SVideo, etc.) I've been able to find the EFC codes for all input devices (allowing direct access without scrolling through them all) EXCEPT the TV input - which is the internal tuner on the Samsung.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks.

If you're using an upgrade, please provide a link to it. If you're using a built-in setup code, please state what it is.

That list of EFC codes still doesn't tell us what setup code you are using. We would need that to figure out what protocol (probably NECx2) and device code you are using, which we would then try matching to the various Samsung files in the file section. Of course, before we could check the file section, we'd need to know what sort of device a HPR5072 is? I'm guessing that it's either a TV or an AV receiver.

Sorry about that.
Yes, the protocol is NECx2 and the device code is 0060. The device is a plasma TV.
Is this what you're looking for - I am new to this. Thanks.

Have you read the #1 Code Search FAQ? (See a link to it in my sig below) You are not acting like it.
Anyways, are you using a built-in setup code or a device upgrade?
So what exactly do the "TV" and "antenna" functions you listed do for you if they do NOT select the tuner?
If not, you can always just use a macro, presuming the "Source" function cycles through all of the sources (i.e. DVD-VCR-TV-STB-Cable-AV1-AV2-AV3-S-vid1-S-vid2-S-vid3-Comp 1-Comp 2-Antenna-DVI-HDMI-PC), then just make a macro with the last source in the cycle before the tuner for which you have a discrete that works followed by one instance of the "source" function (i.e. "VCR" - "Source")

Have you looked at underquark's list of codes here? They all seem to match what you have, so it might be worth looking to see if anything there might help you.TV 008 125 41

Re: Samsung HPR5072 EFC codes
I checked my files and didn't find any setup codes that match NECx2 with a device code of 60. Being a newbie, I suspect that you might be confusing device codes with setup codes, as there is a TV code called 0060. TV/0060 uses the NECx1 protocol with a device and sub-device code of 7.jtabeling wrote:Yes, the protocol is NECx2 and the device code is 0060. The device is a plasma TV.

Sorry for the confusion.
Device: Samsung, HPR5072 Plasma TV
Type of device: Plasma TV
Year: 2005
JP1 Remote model: URC-8910 AllForOne 8910
JP1 user? Yes
Still have original remote? Yes
Checked the file section? Here is the closest I could find and am using as the basis for programming the 8910:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2700
Checked the Pronto file section (at R/C)? Checked - no luck.
Partially working setup code? Partial codes list that are working included in previous post.
Learning remote question? Can only access TV / Antenna mode by scrolling through all "sources" on remote. Have successfully found HDMI and SVideo codes for direct access though. Could create a macro, but would like to use descrete code instead.
Here is the info from the setup tab of keymaster v8.38

So much has been asked and answered here, I think most of the participants are losing track of the fact that jtabeling is looking for ONE discrete code.
Capn's questions that focussed on that seem to have been ignored:
In addition, what does the TV do if you just key in a channel number? Most will automatically switch to tuner, so you don't really need a discrete code to switch to tuner.

Yes, thanks again.

Answer - nothing at all. That's what seems so curious. All of the other codes worked just fine. I would have thought the TV and antenna codes would have been the most straightforward.

I know that he's looking for one discrete code, but in order to start looking for that discrete code, we would need to know what the basic code he's using is, and that's the info that was missing in the first few posts.johnsfine wrote:So much has been asked and answered here, I think most of the participants are losing track of the fact that jtabeling is looking for ONE discrete code.
What we managed to establish is this: TV/0060 is a close enough setup code, and the real protocol info is NECx2 with a device code of 7.
Now that we know the setup code is TV/0060, we can look at the following list:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/cgi-bin2/ueic.cgi?TV_0060
Now that we know the device is a TV that uses NECx2 device 7, we can check the other Samsung upgrades here to see if any of them match, and if they do, see if they contain the discrete code in question.

Looking through the other Samsung TV upgrades, EFC 251 appears to be the standard TV/Antenna code (which we know doesn't work). The only other possible candidate that I could find is "Antenna A/B 139"

OK, then, have you tried either of the pieces of advice that have been most recently provided?
(Creating a two-step macro, or keying some numbers and see if that automatically tunes it to a TV channel)
The "Patronizing lecture" section of my response follows below. Feel free to not read it if you are thin-skinned.
Do you see how your ongoing lack of complete and detailed information could make it frustrating for those of us trying to help you?
The presumption in this forum (outside the beginner's section) is that you know how to read, and in fact DO SO, particularly with respect to:
(1) the sticky posts that provide basic information to help you help youself, AND to help other forum members help you; and
(2) reading the answers/advice/suggestions provided to your question and then providing feedback on them - not ignoring them.
Attention to detail DOES, in fact, matter!
You provided a long list of functions above, with the implication being that these are the ones that WORK!
Now you tell us that at least two of those functions do NOT work - anything ELSE that might prove useful for us?
We're really trying to help, but you're making it OH, so difficult.
