Hi,
I tried the very well documented reference to create a BIN file for the Slingbox (Rob Man, you're the man!).
I recently connected to my old chap's Philips DVDR3300H DVR, but have been unable to get it to program the remote on the Sling. It does not seem to be a "standard" philips codebase and attempts to learn the codes failed on my PDA due to lack-lustre support for reading codes via IR to my Treo 600. Omniremote for Palm lets you see the learned codes but locks up! I managed to get a pre-learned codebase for NoviiRemote (paid the $35 as I had tried it once months back but the trial had expired so took "the leap of faith) but only half the buttons worked and worse still, I couldn't see the actual learned codes so I could program my own BIN file for the DVR (Novii basically fails to detect the IR port on the Treo).
I gave up, flew home to Atlanta from the UK today slightly disgruntled. I can of course, still watch the sling and program the Sling from the US if I get the right codes (like is power 48 and 12 etc.?). Maybe I am being a total thickie so any help is much apprecitated.
Thanks
Rob

There are some Pronto files for Philips DVDR models over at Remote Central, but there isn't one for the 3300. I think the first step should be to try making an upgrade file based on the data found in those files (like the one for the DVDR1000, for example) and see if those codes work.
If they don't, your next option is to get yourself a JP1 learning remote and JP1 cable. This way you will not only get an excellent remote to work your system, but you'll also have a tool to decode the signals from the original remote (unless you left it with the old man, in which case maybe he can send it to you).

Rob,
Thanks for the post. I tried the DVR1000 codes last week and alas, no joy.
I'll get me a JP1 remote and cable like you suggest or maybe "assume" that if the PAL version of Sling has popular DVR's in the list, the DVDR3300 will be in the Sling's setup list and get an additional PAL box (I know the old chap was devastated to not be able to watch my US TV so we can swap out).
I guess its best to not assume, I think I'll go for the JP1 remote method
Cheers

Successful ???
Norbyt,
Have you been successful back in 2006?
I have the Philips DVDR 3300H and a new Slingbox SOLO, but the device is still not included in the choice of remote-codes of Slingmedia.
I would be so grateful if you can provide the remote controls file to me!
Regards from Hamburg

What is a "Slingbox SOLO"? Do you know if you can load up JP1 upgrades like you can with the regular Slingboxes?

The Slingbox SOLO is a regular Slingbox model with in- and output connections for one video device, supporting HD signals.
Actually I found a Philips device in the list with most functions working. The only one I miss is the HDD menu access to get to start recorded files from the HDD.
Can anyone please help me soon!
Hoping for help...
