Toshiba SD-H400

Post by 89formula »

Tivo/DVD player combo. I need a KM file if anyone can help. OFA 8910, I dont have the original remote. I really just need the discrete code for the Thumbs Down. I am new at this JP1, but I can use the discrete code in my PDA Omniremote. I can get the OFA to run the DVD part, but no thumb. All other Tivo codes I try wont do it either.

Does the regular VCR/0618 code work the Tivo functions?

No. Codes for Toshiba DVD players get all DVD functions, and I can navigate the Tivo menus, but no "thumbs". I need to reset, which requires 3 thumbs down to confirm the process.

Apparently my buddy "edmund" from the RC forums has been looking in here because he just gave me the Tivo EFCs:

145 Thumbs up
141 Thumbs down
029 Tivo
033 LiveTv
059 Quick
163 Guide

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but I'm not very knowledgable about all this. I need the same thing as asked in the original request, but I don't really understand the replies. Could somebody give me a bit of an outline of what I need to do to get my SDH400 to be fully functional with my URC-6131 or RS 15-1994?

Use the Toshiba DVD setup code, then program the PVR buttons using the advanced codes I posted.

Umm....what?

Do you mean I should use ir.exe to tell the 6131 that my PVR button should map to 0503, then use the key moves tab to bind the Thumbs_Up key to 0503's button with EFC 145?

If that's what you mean, I tried that, and it didn't work.

Do it on the remote rather than through IR.exe and it will work.

Oh, I see. As usual, I'm over-complicating things. Thanks, Rob!

Toshiba is notorious for NOT having discrete on and off codes, and a quick scan of the usual places revealed none.

Have you tried the usual work-arounds? Like does "Play" also turn the unit on? If so, "Play-Stop" is a discrete On macro and "Play-Power" is a discrete Off macro. If not "Play" then maybe "Open/Close" will power up the unit?

Else you may have to install and use the ToadTog protocol to simulate discrete functions.

the "live tv" button turns on the sd-h400. So it looks like "live-tv" works as a discrete on, and "live-tv, power" works as a discrete off!!

yeah all my components have discretes now (including my xbox ;) so off to macro programming
