Re: Samsung SIR-S4080R Sat/Dvr Direct TV
The idea of that question was that, if you find a working setup code you should tell us what the code is as that will let us know the particulars of the signal used.CCTVTech wrote:9. Partially working setup code? Update: Yes, most buttons working ok, except for the power button.
Yes, but it needs a hardware mod.CCTVTech wrote:Can this remote be upgraded to JP1? Remote was just purchased 1-1-06.

SAT/1109 uses NEC1 with a device code of 0 and a sub-device code of 16, which matches the upgrade for the SIR S75 found here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1103
The only difference is that the upgrade uses NEC2 whereas SAT/1109 uses NEC1, this would mean that the buttons won't repeat properly using SAT/1109. The code used for the POWER button in SAT/1109 matches the upgrade, so I suspect that the problem is that you need to press and hold the POWER button in order for the device to respond, which wouldn't work using SAT/1109.
Bottom line, if you modify your URC-6131 to be JP1 compatible, you can add that upgrade and everything should work OK.

I should have looked at the post closer as I didn't spot that this is a Tivo we're talking about. Thanks Edmund.
