Your initial question has been answered.

"No"

That is unfortunate (presumably) for you, BUT perhaps if you explained what particular features you need/want or what you need/want to accomplish, alternative methods can be suggested.

You have a TON of learning memory in this thing (about 3-times that of other 2K JP1 learners), so you still ought to be able to do a LOT of what you want, but clearly there are some extender-specific features that are (currently) unavailable to you.

Well, I my real goal is only to get all my devices in and then set up some macros to do something like the following:

1) Turn on HDTV tuner - this turns on TV, Amp Receiver and turns off (standby) DirecTivo and FTA receiver. Switches Sources on TV and Amp Reciver for the HDTV tuner inputs on those devices.

2) Turn on DirecTivo - this turn on TV (if not already on since the button is toggle), Amp Receiver (same toggle), and turns off HDTV tuner, and FTA receiver. Switches Sources on TV and Amp Reciver for the DirecTivo inputs on those devices.

etc.....

All of that can be done without the extender. The only part I don't know about is what buttons you can program macros to. Without JP1, you're limited to the 4 macro buttons, but with JP1 and IR, it appears you can program macros on ANY buttons - in particular, it seems you'd logically want to use the DEVICE buttons for those kinds of macros, which (as I just wrote) you apparently can program using IR and JP1.

Is that by trial and error or just from reading the manual? I ask because I have a URC8040 (Kameleon 4) and it has only one "Macro" button although you can actually shove macros onto any button you like (except the device, screen, power keys).

Presumption from the manual.

Right, I don't doubt this, BUT since 2devnull has his JP1 cable and pogo adapter, it's certainly MUCH EASIER to manage your macros using IR.
