Did you try the WMA11B upgrade just to confirm whether it is compatible or not?

Also, is URC-9660 really your remote model number or did you typo URC-9960?

Remote Model Typo

Post by dwhiting »

you are right. it is a URC-9960. I downloaded the WMA11B code but it does not have a button for Shuffle or Repeat. The WML11B just plays music. The WMA11B plays all media and connects to a TV. It has an onscreen menu. The WML11B does not connect to a TV and only has a 4 line LCD display. From the user's manual I d/l it says the remote has a specific button for shuffle and repeat. This is the main function I need.

But did you TRY that upgrade?

If I understand you correctly, the upgrade and your device have at least some functions in common. Do those functions work?

Even if that would have no value at all as a partially working remote, it has value as information on where to look for the missing functions.

But did you at least try the upgrade to see if the buttons that are present work? (Like volume, etc) Because if those buttons do work, it will tell us the protocol and device code, along with some of the button codes. You can then try some of the missing OBCs to find the remaining functions.

Unless someone steps forward who has this specific device and volunteers an upgrade that they forgot to upload, you don't have any other options.

Success

I tried the WMA11B upgrade and some buttons worked but they were interchanged. For example Play button would FF and Display button would stop. I have fixed the upgrade file though and found the missing codes like Repeat and Random. I have uploaded a new KM text file to the Files/Device Upgrades/Misc section.

Here's the file...
