Why no development of software for other remotes w/pc intrfc

Post by JLanguage »

For example, right now the only way to configure a harmony remote is by using the online software which is great for simplicity, but bad for power-users. The harmonies have 2MB of flash memory vs. 2k on the jp1 remotes, imagine the kind of crazy macros you could create. I'm sure there are many other remotes as well that currently cab only be programmed by using the proprietary software.

Just a thought,
-Jonathan.

There's only so much that we can cover in these forums. Here, the sole focus of our attention are UEI remotes. It would be up to some other use group to try attacking the Harmony.

True. I found a thread here: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mb ... d.cgi?2412 that talks about hacking Harmony remotes.
