Nokia DBOX2

Post by juski »

Here goes.

I'm already a very happy user of JP1 software, having made up my own protocol (eek) to control my mythtv box & cable box which had no known codes...

I've just been given a Nokia DBOX2 to play with. The only snag is that it didn't come with a remote.

I've tried all the 'sat' codes I could find for my URC-7562 (B00) to no avail. All but 0573 result in a single flash from the 'magic' button - and 0573 doesn't work (two flashes from 'magic' but no response from the dbox).

So. I've managed to locate a lircd.conf file on the internet but I have no idea about the protocol used. Can anyone please help? The config file is here.

I've sucessfully managed to translate an RC5 file from a lirc config file before (with the help of you guys here) but I'm at a loss where to start.

I'm not smart enough to work on decoding a lirc file, but it sounds like you have only tried using built-in codes. Have you looked in the file section for any device upgrades that might work? A cursory check of the satellite device upgrade section shows FOUR separate Nokia/Dreambox upgrades. None of them is specifically for the DB2, but one of them MAY work. Isn't it worth a try?

The codes are Nokia Sat 873, Dreambox 7000, Nokia DBox1, and Nokia 9800.

More than likely.

I'll give those a go.

Thanks very much... I'd only looked on the Yahoo pages ..
