You asked for input to help deal with learning frustrations, so I have been spending some time trying to collect my experiences and frustrations as a newbie building that Sony update into a beginner step by step guide.
First draft is at http://bevhoward.com/stuff/Newbie.htm
Feedback would be appreciated. |

Hey Bev,
I know you're looking for me to comment on this, but the doc is just too long for me to digest it a minute or two, so I can't see me having the time to read it anytime soon (sorry). So, you'll just have to wait until a newbie (or an expert with time) can go over it. _________________ Rob

The focus on the Sony Combo protocol is a little too specific for what most newbies will need, but you've covered it well. Overall, I think it's good especially with the level of difficulty you seemed to have experienced thus far.
This isn't meant as a criticism, but have you read the KM readme? It glosses over many of the same points you make on what info goes where (though it really doesn't explain the why). JP1 - Just How Easy Is It? goes into a little more of the why, but is intended to be more hand-holding in nature. _________________ Mark |
