How do I know if I plugged correctly on RS 15-2133?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

How do I know if I plugged correctly on RS 15-2133?

Post by stephenw4 »

Hello folks, I recently got RS 15-2133 remote and JP1 kit though eBay today and I modified the remote so I could use JP1 cable to fit in so anyway, everything looks fine and I am concerned about which way I should plug the 6 pins connector on the cable because the remote does not have pin 1 marking on it just the holes for 6 pins connector and I've already installed it successfully so I do not want to risk damaging the remote if I plugged in wrong way, Can you able to tell me how I insert the cable's end in proper way -- if I plugged in wrong way, will it damage the remote or printer port?

Let me know and I'm looking forward to try out the software

You will not damage anything by plugging it in the wrong way.

Ok, thanks alot!! I asked you how do I know that I am able to communicate without any problems like running IR.EXE and use diagnostic tools to test the link to make sure it is communicating correctly?

Thanks!

In IR click on 'Interface' and then 'Check Interface'. This will check for proper communication with the remote.
