Upgrades for controlling PC via IR - does such thing exist?

Hi all,

I would like to use my URC8811 to control my LapTop via IR port.
Can this be done?

I've searched yahoo group files section and this forum - to no avail.

RC model - URC8811
LapTop model - IBM ThinkPad 380XD
I don't have an original laptop's R/C

Any clues at all, anyone? Where to start?

You could buy a streamzap remote, which comes with an IR receiver that plugs into your USB port, and software to control various applications like Windows media player. My 9910 has been upgraded with video accessory 1309 to mimic the streamzap remote.
