devices4 hasn't been updated in years, so the one in the file section should be the most current.

I take it most of you experts are into RM instead of KM, so KM no longer gets updated? By the way, had some success getting the +100 key to work on another NEC protocol, though it's not working now, might have to upload the saved file, if I didn't make a mistake saving it......however, the +10 key, while getting a reaction on the cd player, seems to only select track 06, 66, then stop working till I hit the select button to blank out the LCD and start over. While this is a nice learning exercise, hitting the digits one at a time seems to work, so I just may leave this.....heck, who am I kidding, I want to see if I can get it to work!

Rob was speaking of the devices4 spreadsheet, not KM. (Perhaps you didn't notice this post today?doninwny wrote:I take it most of you experts are into RM instead of KM, so KM no longer gets updated?

You're right. The latest Devices4.xls (from 12/25/03) has the error you described.doninwny wrote:I downloaded the latest version of devices4 (I think, the one posted now at hifi-remote), thinking that might be a problem, I think it's one from 10/04. That file generated a device1 and device2 of 182.
I was using an OLDER Device4.xls (from 3/27/02) that gets this right.
You may need to also consult the new devices.xls file that has a much larger selection of setup codes and more accurate protocol and device info (but doesn't include EFC numbers). Then get just the EFC numbers from Devices4.
Right.doninwny wrote:What I will do, if I'm following you correctly, is leave subdevice blank in KM, and delete the +100 key for now, putting it in on another device code after and keymoving, as you have suggested. I left the protocol at NEC1, as was generated by the program. Am I understanding this right?
Ok, I finally got the +10 and +100 keys on aux, since +100 had a subdevice of 72, I had to do them separately, with keymoves over to the CD key. So now everything is working the way I want, tonight I'll try a few macros. I do have a lot of moves listed in the keymoves tab, which are taking up quite a bit of memory. Can I delete these, or at least the phantom ones, if I'm not using them? What's the best way to check to see if they are needed? For example I now have a small TV on the aux key, but I have seven keymoves listed under aux. I inputted the setup code for this TV directly, and needed no changes afterwards. I'm guessing these are old keymoves leftover from tinkering and keymoving to other devices. Advice? Thanks, Don
