Need help on Humax 8000-T

Post by terence8888 »

Hi there,

After a year of absence in fiddling with JP1, I'm forced to re-learn everything since I bought a Humax 8000-T PVR.

The appropriate file can be found in the Yahoo area but it's in the format for IR not KM. I don't know how to convert the file into KM so that I can fiddle around with this.

BTW I also tried using my 8811 to learn the commands. Most buttons do work except the up/down/left/right arrows, any ideas?

Cheers!

You are correct, the user who created that file loaded it into the wrong place. As the upgrade is using the official UEI setup code, I'm guessing they didn't create this upgrade themselves, but got it as a download instead.

To re-create this as a KM or RM upgrade, you should select the NEC1 protocol and enter 0 as device1 (the main device code) and 16 as device2 (the sub-device), then copy the EFC codes that you see displayed in IR when you open the file.

Just FYI, there is a setup code in the URC-8811 that uses the same device codes, so maybe some of the buttons are the same also (I didn't check). This setup code is SAT/1109.

Also, there is an upgrade for a Humax-CX-1201C-Cable Digibox in the new file section which also uses the same device codes, so I'm betting it will work also.

Thanks for the reply.

I have managed to put the upgrade together with my 8811 learning the codes. I would like to upload it for people to share. How do I do that?

Go to the PVR folder in the Device Upgrades folder of the File Section of the forums.

Then push the Image button.
