Hi Folks!
Very cool comunity you have here! I've perused almost all the message boards trying to hunt down information about this elusive system.
The Denon D-850 is an all in one Home Theatre System. I've checked Denon's website and they do not have the codes for this system there.
I just purchaced the RS 15-2117 Remote and I do have the Denon Remote (model RC-811) as well.
Does anyone have the codes for this?
Thanks!
luis...
ps: I have the Evation IRMan on hand so I could capture the codes and upload it here, if need be.

Re: Denon D-850
This is a JP1 forum, so if you have a JP1 cable you can learn a few signals from the Denon to the 2117 and decode them with IR.EXE and then ask about specific protocol names and device numbers, so we could tell you what setup codes if any are built in.luis wrote: I just purchaced the RS 15-2117 Remote and I do have the Denon Remote (model RC-811) as well.
But if you had a JP1 cable you wouldn't need built in setup codes, since you could create you own.
I have no idea what format IRMAN uses to store captured signals, but if you want to post or email several captured signals I probably can figure out the IRMAN format and then the protocol and device number(s).luis wrote: ps: I have the Evation IRMan on hand so I

John,
Thanks for the reply! I was initially hoping that someone
may have done this already.
I'll have to build the JP1 cable sometime next week and post
the results here.
As for Irman, it communicates with LIRC (which i've
seen mentioned around here) through the serial port.
I'll post the value for my denon remote as to what
LIRC sees. But, that'll have to happen next week.
Thanks again,

Luis,
Even if someone had already built an upgrade for this device, without a JP1 cable, what did you intend to do with it?

Maybe he could post the LIRC data and Jon or I could tell him which Denon devices and EFCs it represented and maybe those Denon device numbers are built in setup codes, which we could also tell him, plus we could explain how you define KeyMoves to other setup codes without a JP1 cable (I'm assuming that this device uses a combination of codes from other DEnon device). The Robman wrote:Luis,

Of course it's all a lot easier via JP1.
I expect the majority of upgrades in our file area consist of commands that you could make with appropriate keymoves from built-in setup codes, rather than commands you can only do via upgrade, so in fact our upgrade files should be an effective resource for non JP1 users.
Of course it's all a lot easier via JP1. (In case someone missed that earlier).

I think what John's trying to say is that it's all alot easier with JP1, just in case that wasn't clear!

Yup! The message is clear! The Robman wrote:I think what John's trying to say is that it's all alot easier with JP1, just in case that wasn't clear!
I *still* have to build the JP1 dongle.
I just have to visit RS to buy the parts.
luis....
ps: does any one know of a code for this controler which enables *all*
the functions (buttons) on the remote?
This portion would be used for the PVR that I'm building...
pps: hope, i'm not breaking forum rules here by asking this question. 8)

If you're going the DIY route, why not buy a "kit" from Hovis Direct for $9?luis wrote:I *still* have to build the JP1 dongle.
