I have messed with this remote for two weeks nonstop, I have a dump from omniremote, but my 15-2104 cant seem to find the protocol. This is the first revision of the product, with the old flimsy plastic remote. any help would be VERY appreciated.

Have you tried learning the signals from the original remote to the 15-2104? If the hex code that you posted is really for this device, the 15-2104 should have no trouble learning it and reporting back to you the protocol info.

If you can't get the learning procedure to work, for whatever reason, download the IRTool program (not to be confused with IR.exe) and use it to decode the hex code that you posted. You'll find that it all decodes as the NEC1 protocol, which makes it very easy to create an upgrade.

for some reason my 15-2104 doesnt seem to be able to learn the buttons from the original remote. I tried both the rotating protocol trick (CD, Play, CD, Play) and even after I hit the setup button again, and went to my computer, downloaded from the remote, nothing had changed in it (so im not confident its actually rotating through the protocols like its suppose too). Also I tried to direct button program trick, while the light flickers I have tried both pressing and holding the button, and pressing the button rapidly. Nothing ever changed in my download from the remote, and it never gained the ability to control the device.

I finally used omniremote as a last ditch to get a raw rip of the IR. I am atleast hoping someone can extract the protocol that I need to use from this, and put me on the right track.

I downloaded the IRTool program last night, and it decoded the hex as Unknown/Raw. The only version I could find was called Pronto IR Tool or something of that nature.

With the correct IrTool.exe and DecodeIr.dll the valid ones will decode correctly. The really short ones such as "power" won't decode.

(Rob, when that gets moved to the new file area, should we put such things in the tools folder? or make a subdirectory for obscure tools? Or leave it confusingly in a seperate place? )
