|
|
here is my setup
1.remote-urc-8910
2. sony receiver str-de695
3. using Sony STR-DE995 Receiver upgrade from the files section
4. uploaded it.
5. truns it on and off the vol works.
but i can't figure out how to change the inputs vid1 vid2 vid3 and so on. i have been reading some posts about av1 and av2. the receiver is set to av2 everything works but the inputs. if i change it to av1 nothing works. i am new to jp1 remotes. now when i looked at the file it put those input buttons in the shift-function columns. and it also said that the shift button is on the tv/vid button. I thought all i had to do was hit the tv/vid button the hit corresponding number for what input. but it did not work. can someone take a look at the file and tell me if i am doing something wrong. or send me in the right direction. i also upload file using a wav file. plan on making a jp1 cable just have not had the time to make it. I don't know if that has anything to with it.
thanks for the help |

i took a look at that file.
i think the "shift" that is on the tv/vid button is referring to the shift
function of the original (sony) remote. to access the shifted buttons for
the input select you need to hit the shift button on the 8910 remote then
the appropriate number button.
i have a sony rcvr and i found that from the factory it was set to av2 but
i had to use av1 to get things to work. i forget why (brain rot..its been over a year)
but you might want to double check av1/av2 issue.
sounds like its all working though...just misunderstanding about shift hopefully.

I'm not sure I understand your question but the "shift" key on the original remote has nothing to do with any JP1 shift function. It is used to select memory pages for presetting radio station presets. If you don't have a manual, it is available for download from Sony at this site .
The set(setup) button is the usual shift button for shifted JP1 commands. If a command is on a shifted numeric button the "set" button has to be pressed twice to select the shifted command (unless you are using an extender or have used a macro to define an alternate shift button with the set(setup) executing twice). _________________ Just call me Zaphod (or Steve) --- I never should have started using numbers in a screen name but I just can't stop now. |

Shift key on most remotes are: P, or Set-up. Those are the default keys for shift. If you are using someone Else's IR file the setting could be changed to any key.
