Easy way to convert RS 1994 ir file to a RS 1995?

Post by Mark W »

I have a RS 15-1994 remote with an IR file just the way I want it. I also have a 1995 remote that I want to work the same way. What is the easiest way to do this? Thanks.

There is no short cut here, despite how they look, these remotes are about as different as they can possibly be. Apart from everything else, they use different processors, which means they will use different protocol upgrades. Plus, there's a limit to how big device upgrades can be with "Mits 740" remotes like the 15-1995.

Bottom line, you'll need to do everything over for the 15-1995.

Thanks for the help Rob. The main thing I need to control is a Hughes HDVR2 DTivo. I looked in the files section and I of course see a few different files for them there, none that were done for a 1995. So do I just start with any of them and update the buttons, or will that not work? From what you said in your previous post, it sounds like they are too different to do that?

WHen there is a devic upgrade for your device but that uses a different remote, all you have to do is load it into KM/RM, change the remote it uses, then double check the button assignments.
