|
|
I've just installed the 1994 ext5 and my key moves and macros do not show uo in the new file. From the readme it seems it should not be a problem. My problem lies?
Quote: | 5) Find where it says "Old.txt" and replace Old.txt with the name of the file
you created in step 3. Find where it says "New.txt" and replace that with the
name of the file you want to create in step 7. The quote marks in the
command line are required around those name if there are spaces in the name.
Otherwise the quote marks are optional. |
Do I have to name the "new" file something special. I left as new and that is what I get; a new ext 5 file with all my devices but none of my keymoves or macros.
Am I doing something obvious wrong?
Thanks

Your just doing it the hard way and quite possibly don't have the two current RDF's (unextended and extended) in the right place.
Use the extinstall option in IR instead of the batch file process. Just make sure the .hex file and your old file and the current RDF's are in the right places that IR knows about. Also make sure you use the RDF's from the current distribution zip file and not the RDF's from the extender zip file. _________________ Nils

The file I would like to convert is a 15-1994 ex3. So with this file open I go to IR drop down menu and merge using ExtInstall? I try that same results, I will replace all the RDF's with new RDF and try again.
Ok tried again and getting the same thing. I have all of my devices and protocols but no keymoves or Marcos.
Maybe my problem is because I edit the Install5 batch file?

I think it's because of the [Notes] section in your .IR file, unless someone added the support for it to extinstall. As I said earlier in another thread, strip off the notes section, covert the file then put it back to the new file.

Nothing seems to be working. I probably have my files mixed up.
Here is another ? on this extender. Does this extender work with the spcl prot fns tab in IR? In the parameters section the only type I can use is the DSM. I also installed an extender for a 6131pvr remote and that remote allows use of all types except for DSM. Is the only way to do LKP and the others in the 1994 ext5 thr the use of hex as outlined in the readme for that extender?
Thanks

Replace the existing [SpecialProtocols] section with this and you should get all the sp tab entries as long as the protocols are there under the protocols tab.
[SpecialProtocols]
DSM=01FC
LDKP=01F9
ToadTog=0181
Pause=01FB _________________ Nils

Where/How do I do that?
I have just a procal section, not a special protcal section.

Too cool it works, I found that it was RDF by doing search. Thanks.
I assume I can also add that to other RDF's and get the same results? Just tried it no luck. I was trying to add to 1994 ext3. I think I need the procals and devices added. Can I copy them out of ext 5 and just add them to ext3?
