OK I just got my cable and I'm trying to do my first upgrade and I'm having problems.
IR 6.00
KM 8.31
Cable from FileBug
UEI HTPro (9910 clone)
Found VCR/DVD KM file I needed premade for me. APEX ADV-3800. DVD 1061 Official (Check)
Moved and added a few buttons from existing functions pre-entered for me. (Check).
Learned my receiver's Vol + Vol - & MUTE from generic Durabrand HT-395 Receiver. Tested learned functions (Check).
Downloaded LEARNED keys from remote and manually entered NEW functions into KM.
I then proceed to UPGRADE my remote to include the DVD 1061.
VCR/DVD functions ARE working.
However the Volume and mute buttons DON'T.
What's wrong? Same Protocol name NEC1.
I'll upload the KM text file and IR file to see if someone can help me. Can't find attach file option
Thanks in advance I hope. |

If I understand you correctly, you've got a working KM upgrade file for the 1st device (which is an Apex DVD/VCR player) and you've learned the volume buttons for a 2nd device (which is a Durabrand Receiver) and you're hoping to use the EFCs decoded from the learned signals in the DVD/VCR player upgrade?
Unless you just happen to have found 2 devices that just happen to use the exact same protocol AND device codes as each other, that's not possible. And besides, if your goal is to simply get the volume buttons to work the stereo while the remote's in DVD mode, there's a much easier way to do it. Just set the VPT (volume punch thru) to the stereo. _________________ Rob

OK the VPT sounds like what I want to do.
Guess I'll have to work on an upgrade for my cheap-arse receiver that I have in that room.
I haven't tried VPT yet so now I have new questions:
1) Can different devices have different devices punching thru? IE VCR has TV VPT and DVD has Receiver VPT?
2) If I want a second copy of DVD 1061 on the VCR button do I need to upgrade to the VCR device or just change the device type? |
