I just checked with UEI and they confirmed that they haven't made the old black "Producer 8" style HT-Pro in years, so it's very unlikely that the sites that are using that picture are really selling the old version. My guess is that they are all selling the new version.

PC Rush does have the correct mfg code for the new HTPro so I would also think that confirms that it is the new model. Unless their shipping is really ridiculous that is a really good deal.
It looks like shipping at Erwin comp is around $6 to $7
By the way, this turns out to be a really nice remote.

PC Rush's shipping to my zip code is just over $11, click here to calculate the shipping to your zip. I also called them to see if they could verify which remote they are actually selling and they can't. They said the remotes actually ship from their distributor, they don't even have them, so they have no idea what they're really selling.
Therefore, I think it's a fairly safe bet that all of the sellers are really selling the newer model (ie, the URC-9910 clone).

I might be looking for one of these, and now am totally confused both by what I read here after finding all this on google:
1. HT Pro 9811B00 $18.95 looks like 8910, might have IR/RF
http://www.erwincomputers.com/unelhtprohot.html
2. HT PRO Home Theater Remote 025383098116
HT Pro 9811B00 $40.50 looks like C7 with LCD is 9" long, has IR/RF
http://www.bisonbusiness.com/unelurhtproh.html
larger picture - on different link?
http://store1.yimg.com/I/able-america_1830_18026358
3. HT Pro 9811B00 $89 looks like 8910
http://www.smarthome.com/8024.html
4. HT Pro 9811B00 $12.32 looks like C7 shipping $12
http://www.pcrush.com/prodspec.asp?ln=1 ... refid=1135
Availability: In Stock

Items can still be removed later.
Part No. 76435
Mfg Part No. 9811B00
Product Condition: New
Product Type: Remote Controls
5. Finally this one for $7.99 also looks like C7 with LCD
x10.com
I can't make any sense of these, 2 models, enormous price differences and I have no idea whether they have JP1 pins - can someone help?
I know there is the issue of arrow keys vs the ring, grey vs black, but now I see the C7 look-alike muddling the picture all with the same model#. Any idea what it is? C7 has very nice design, perhaps even nicer than the 8910 so that might be worth looking at also.
What is a Producer 8 Rob mentions?

All of the sites that have what you call a black Cinema 7 use the same picture with the purple circle in the background (which I assume they got from their distributor).
Here's a picture of that remote and the URC-9800 "Producer 8" side by side (click on pics to enlarge):
-
As you can see, they're both the same remote, except for the paint job.
The UEI "HT-Pro" remote is always a re-badged version of the current OFA IR/RF "Producer" remote. In the old days, this was the URC-9800, and now it's the URC-9910.
I spoke to UEI about these listings and they said that they haven't made the old URC-9800 style HT-Pro is many years, so it's very unlikely that any of these sites are really selling the old black model. These web sites don't actually carry the stock on site, when you order something, they pass the order onto their distributor (which is where they got the picture), so they have no idea what they're really selling. One of the sites that uses the old picture lists the features of the remote, and those features include "commercial skip". The CS feature is only included on the URC-9910, it wasn't part of the URC-9800, which seems to indicate which remote you are really going to get.
The only other possibility is that someone discovered a large quantity of the old model and is now clearing them out very cheaply. Tell ya what, if you place an order and they send you the old model, I'll buy it from you for my collection as I don't have one of them.

remotes...
Guys,
If the costs with shipping come close to tweeter.com ($26.00 w/ free freight), i'd get it from tweeter.com if your uncertain about the seller. I've now received 2 HT-PRO's from tweeter which is a VERY reputable store.

PC Rush doubled price on HT Pro
Checking the PCRush web site just now the HT PRo price has doubled since yesterday. Seems the confusion on this product continues. First Tweeter has it for a good price, now no sign of it. Next PCrush seems to be the lowest price then they double it. Now x10 seems to be the lowest at a rock bottom ~$8. What's next?
Hopefully by the weekend I can let this forum know what I received from PCRush.

The PCRush price has now doubled to $24 and several of the other sites that had it listed have now increased their price. The X10.com listing is still just $7.99, so grab 'em while you can!

$6.54, $15 with ground shipping includes the commercial skip in the features list
this site
http://www.dealtime.com/xPC-Universal_E ... ter_Remote
indicates x10 sells them for 19.99 but their link takes you to the 7.99 price +6 shipping.
It'll be interesting to see what it is they're all selling selling. We should have a post-buying poll.

News and details about X10:
In spite of a disreputable appearance of this site, I ordered one Sunday.
Today I got a note that they’re shipping.
Fedex tracking indicates from Harrisburg, PA, (100 miles from me).
It was here when I got home from work.
The packing slip says shipped from Kent, WA. That’s the other side of the continent.
The remote is neat, if you can get it out of a very tight UEI box.
Model# is 9811B00. UEI box says it’s HTPro Plus.
Remote says HTPro.
Has JP1 pins.
Looks exactly like my 8910 except it’s sad grey.
The arrow keys (not a ring) are translucent, red backlight goes through.
It has the RF/IR gizmo which works. It transmits out of 3 sides of a 10x12 cm box.
Has a moveable 30cm antena.
Good through 1 wall and about 30’ away from the RF box.
Also included is a cord with something IR but I don’t know what it is yet.
May have to read the book.
Has a somewhat non-slip base so it’s still possible to slide it in your hand.
I saved the untouched IR image. Is that of any use to anyone?
It works just fine with my 8910 IR image
. The end.
