HT-PRO vs. 8910...

Post by aceman »

Folks,

Thanks to this forum i picked up the HT-PRO from tweeter for 25.00 w/ free shipping. That includes the RF modulator.

FYI - BB/CC has the same remote under the OFA brand for 60.00.

Have you received this from Tweeter yet? Or just ordered it?

Im a little worried, because I ordered mine yesterday and the email confirmation sent from Tweeter said model # 8911B00 which is *not* the newer HT Pro that they show in the picture.

Wondering if maybe they are referring to the old model number but shipping the new model.

Thanks!!!

The actual number on the HT Pro remote is URC-9811B00. Did you mean 98 or the 89 you typed.

My e-mail said 9811B00 and the remote is 9811B00

Sorry, yes, I mistyped.

The 9811B00 is not the silver one in the picture then, is it?

I was under the impression that the silver one pictured on Tweeter.com is the 9910, not the 9811.

The picture clearly shows it marked as HT Pro.

Is there any difference between the HTPro and the URC-9910? Would the extender upgrade IR file I use in my URC-9910 work on the HTPro?

I apologize, I meant to say that I was under the impression that the HTPro is a relabelled 9910. However, if I search the net for the model Tweeter talks about in the confirmation email (9811B00), I see the *old* (black, donut nav) HTPro. In some places, I see the newer one Tweeter is listing, but thats where the confusion lies.

Plus Ive also read that the HTPro *is* a relabelled 9910, but Ive found 2 different versions of the HTPro (silver with the new arrows and black with the donut).

I guess Im just better off waiting to see what Tweeter sends me :)

The only difference I'm aware of is the HTP is marketed by UEI and the 9910 is from OFA. Internallt, they're identical. Externally, the HTP has the rubberized coating on the bottom casing (similar to the RS remotes).

The one Tweeter is sending is the silver with the gray back and the separate navigation buttons exactly as pictured on the web site. In other words the new model.

And yes, the 8910/9910 IR files will work in it just fine.

There are two distinct remotes credited as being the 9811 on the net, the all black one similar to the 9800 producer 8, was NEVER released. The only HT-PRO ever sold was the 9910 clone.

HT-Pro vs. OFA9910

Post by aceman »

Guys,

FIrst off - I mistyped the subject - it should of been HT-PRO vs. 9910.

I received the HT-PRO yesterday, and it never made it home. I stopped at a relatives house and they wanted it so i programmed it for them and ordered another for myself.

I can tell you that it looks exactly like the picture, and came with the RF Receiver/IR transmitter, all for 26.50 or so after tax and free shipping.

BTW - I think the 9911 is only for Canadian markets, whatever that means.

I placed my order for the 2nd HT-Pro last night, no problems on the website. I go on the website today and its no where to be seen. I'm wondering if they were actually selling the RF enabled remote accidentally for the price of the non RF remote. THIS IS WEIRD.

Just a quick comment - other than the rubber bottom, the top finish is also a slightly darker silver and has some sort of lamminate over it that the OFA remote does not. The finish in general is higher quality.

Smart Home has it for just $89.99! :)
http://www.smarthome.com/8024.html

Erwin Comp has it for $18.95 but it's not clear from their listing whether this really is the RF version, but as I'm not aware of there being a URC-8910 type version of the HTPro, I assume it must be.

PC Rush has it even cheaper, for just $12.32
