moving a macro to a different key without an extender

I have an 8811 and am just starting to play with the JP1 system.
I have programmed the M1 key on the remote to chance the TV to channel 10 (our local TV Guide channel).
Is it possible to move that from the M1 key to the 'Guide' key on the remote?
Can it be done without an extender? How? Where do I find that info?
If I need an extender I guess I will have to try and figure them out.

In the macros page in IR.exe you can simply change which key a macro is bound to: On the Macros tab, select the desired macro, then press Edit, then change the bound key.

Is that what you meant by "move".

That is exactly what I was asking for!

Now, is it possible to do the same thing for a 'Learned' signal?

WAIT - I tried it by creating a learned signal and then used IR to view the data and create a keymove for the DVD on the REC key with the data that was in the learned signal to eject the disc.

Sweet!!

Is my terminology correct?
Is there something else I should try?

Eventually what I want to happen is for when I press any device key it turns on the TV (if not already on) and the RCVR (again, if not already on) and select the correct input, and also turn on any other device. Sounds like this is possible?

I think the more important thing that you're missing is that you don't need to program macros to the macro keys, nor do you have to learn signals just to the learning buttons. You can use almost all of the buttons for these purposes.

You should probably do a search for "8811" or "8810" (the Wal-Mart version of the 8811). The official manual is one of the most misleading. You can put a macro on most buttons and learn to most keys , not just the M1-4 and L1-4. Also check out threads about the "best JP1 remote" where this one is listed by many people.
