Best Remote Opinion....

I know this is a loaded opinion but I couldn't find any opinions so thought I would Post..

Based on Todays availability what remote would you Buy... Looking for a discount remote w/jp1 ability. Please include the cost today to help Us newbies with selection.

I think the URC-8810 (same as urc-8811) available from either Walmart or Rob is the best bargain JP1 remote.

In most ways it's the best JP1 remote before you consider price. It is also less expensive than most other remotes that are JP1 capable without modification. (That's assuming you get it from Walmart or Rob. I was just in BJ's and they charge 24.99).

IIRC it was $18.76 at Walmart last time I checked. You can check Rob's price at:

Rob also sells the cable (as of last time I checked). Walmart doesn't. So you may save on shipping by getting cable and remote together.

I have the URC-8811 available for $19 and JP1 cables for $15. Shipping is $4 which would give you a total of $38.

Well I couldn't Wait.. My main remote bit the big one finally... (Kids are Rough on Electronics..

.) Was down to the Radio Shack 15-2116 or urc-8810... Price Won and at 17.97 for the urc-8810 not a bad buy (I already have a cable)..

So I am Truly impressed with this remote..

Setup in about 15 min. to all components w/no issues.
5 min on the ir.exe setting up macros ..
Power .... (everything)
Theater Setup to watch DVD
And Back to TV....
ETC....

Now have a full jp1 archive of the working remote and it's time to Play..
Where Can I start on the extendors...???
speed up macros... shift functionality etc...
