SONY DAV-S550 Codes

Hi,

i have a problem with my Sony-DAV S550. I cant find a code for my OFA (Dreambox Remote). I have a JP1 and programmed a third device. Now I need the codes for the Home Theater System Sony DAV-S550.
With my second OFA (URC-7740) the code is 1903. How can I integrate this in my Dreambox-RC?
The codes for Keymaster would be great!! In the Yahoo DB I cant find a working File. OFA-Usa Website says, the keys are 1658 or 1858.
I am working very long on this topic, so help would be great because I dont know how all this goes on...

Start with this KM file: Sony_DAVS300 then add additional codes as needed from the ones listed here:

thanks, but it doesnt work.
If I use the DAV-S300 or DAV-S500 files, the Setup-Code is 1533 and my DAV-S550 does nothing. I think the code is wrong.
Please help me:
- in KM what should I put into Device Typ, Setup Code Button Code?
- What is the protocol name?

the actualt setup code number chosen by the person who created the upgrade is irrelevant, so that's not the issue.

When you're using a ready made upgrade file, as you are here, you sholdn't change any of that stuff. All you need to change in the Setup sheet is the name of your remote.

I suspect that you're making a mistake in IR rather than the code not working. Here's what I'd like you do to, open the file I just linked to in KM, change the remote to the Dreambox remote and then save the file. Fire up IR.exe and download your current remote settings. Then cut & paste the upgrade from KM over to IR, and assign the setup code to a device button, then save the file and upload it to your remote and test it. Assuming it still doesn't work, zip the two files togather and post them in the Diagnosis Area.

Finally, post a link to the file here, after reading the "how to post a link" thread.

The 550 is a non-USA model and I don't have access to an owners manual. The 300 and 500 use the Sony AV1 remote command mode. The 550 might use the AV2 command set like the newer HCDC770 or HCDFC7 or it could be completely different . You should check your owner's manual for references to AV1 and AV2. If you can change command modes to AV1 then you can try the 300 upgrade , if you see no reference then you should try the C770 or FC7 upgrades as starting points (the FC7 is a RemoteMaster upgrade) (the HCD and DAV prefixes are interchangeable nomenclature - DAV is the system type while HCD is the actual device type)

thanks for your help, but it doesnt work. I posted the two files in the diagnostics area under:

I really hope you can help me now.
I also tried the sony-davs770 file, no response either. But with the 300-File, my tv blinks but doesnt power on.

Dream systems do not use either AV1 nor AV2 modes, they have a codeset all of their own.

OK, I did a bit of searching and it appears that you need audio/1658 or audio/1858 for this device. I have created an upgrade file for audio/1658 that you can try. Assuming youget most things working, you can fill in the blanks using the Sony RCVR/DVD file that I linked to earlier.

Glad to hear it. Could you do me a favor. Try as many of the additional codes from the Sony page that I linked to as you can to see which ones work, including functions that aren't even on the original remote, then update the upgrade file to include them. Also, remove any functions that don't work, then re-save the file as Sony-DAV-S500.txt and load it up into the HT folder.

Hi Robman,

I am trying to optimize my RC. But there is still one problem. I try to program a macro to switch on Dreambox, TV and Sony DAV. But since a programmed to Sony with your working file the Power-Button doesnt work at Dreambox Modus. To switch on Dreambox I have to press Shift+Power in Dreambox Modus 2 or 3 times. So there is no chance for me to program a macro. Only TV and Sony switch on, Dreambox not.
I found a file (which doesnt work with my Sony) which switches on Dreambox and TV (it is a file for IR), so there must be a way to program the power button to switch on Dreambox and the other 2!!
Can you help me??
