TEAC Australia (ST-B420) digital set top box

I have a very recently released device that I would like to add to my Kameleon remote. It is a digital set top box by TEAC Australia (ST-B420) and so far there is nothing in the JP1 file area that I could use.

I was trying to teach my Kameleon some of the codes using the original remote but some codes cannot be learned. Kameleon simply refuses to learn them. I am not sure why, I tried various things but so far without any success. I get an error each time. Other codes such as power on/off were learned successfully.
I still have enough space on the remote to learn new codes.

I also tried the GetIR tool to read the codes and I built the interface for it according to the instructions. I used a slightly different IR receiver since those listed are not readily available in AUS but it seems that the interface does not work correctly. Both GetIR and even Girder (tool mentioned in the GetIR doc) return different codes each time I press a button on a remote. For testing these tools I used a remote that Kameleon had no problems learning from.
I didn't find much info about GetIR here so I am not even sure if it is an option I should continue exploring but I would like to have the ability to learn codes on a PC rather then using a remote which is a bit awkward.

Is there anything else I can try? I am a JP1 beginner and I have not done much else with the Kameleon other than download the current configuration. My goal was to add all my devices and then create some macros but I can't get past learning the codes.

If you are able to get the Kameleon to learn some of the buttons from your STB, and the learned signals work, post your IR.exe file in the Diagnosis Area (and provide a working link) and one of use will take a look at it.

As it's so easy for people to use their remotes to do the learning, there's very little demand for GetIR and therefore very little knowledge or support for it here.

I still have enough space on the remote to learn new codes.

According to IR, there's only 18 bytes of learning memory left. You should save your current configuration and then do a full reset on the remote and try learning the other functions again.

The current codes learned on the CBL device should be easy to create an upgrade for since the protocol is NEC1 with Device=4 and Sub-Device=250.

I also notice that you have 7 learned signals for your TV device. They are RC-5 signals that require a toggle bit and therefore won't work reliably. They are prime candidates for being turned into key moves, or even a customized upgrade (where they will work properly with the toggle bit).

It also seems like the DVD device might be a good candidate for a device upgrade as well.

BTW, the learned commands on the TV device, with the exception of Exit, are already located on the in the TV/0054 built in library. Just delete them. The functions are already there. Key move the exit command.

I have read this one "JP1_For_Beginners_Rev1.1.pdf" but I think I will have to read it a few more times...

I mean these documents are all very good, but it takes some time to understand how things fit together.
