Since you have provided little information, I'll have to guess assuming you used Pansat2500Receiver.txt:

In KM Master did you:
1. Load the text file into KM Master,
2. Change the remote to the URC 8800

In IR.exe did you:
1. Download your existing configuration from the remote.
2. Assign the SAT device to SAT/2000
3. Copy the device upgrade from KM Master and paste that upgrade into IR (under Device tab using New) and then upload to the remote.

hey, I'm having trouble with that one also, when I try to upload pansat receiver text to my directv ver2 (blue) remote I get some nonsense it all "seems" to work, but nothing when I go to the box. the device code is there when I download from remote. Tried another (two other) .txt files for dish 301 box's and same results? I'm sure I missing some little step. Is remote master any better?

For us to help you, you will need to be more specific. The reason the software gives warnings is to give us some hint as to the problem. "nonsense" doesn't describe anything. Take a look at the step by step instructions with screen shots here

If after reading the link above and if you still haven't gotten it to work, you need to save the file in IR upload it to the JP1 Yahoo group files|diagnosis area. Read the sticky post at the top of this forum on how to paste a link to the Yahoo group and paste a link in your reply here.

OK, I was able to get rid of the errors, bad character by selecting " disable embedded notes" however the the remote is still only partially functional. I would like to get past this step so I can get on with altering my button choices, whoever did the upload left a couple in undesireable locations. The files I'm using are currently in the jp1 files section, To help me you want what, my remote with the new code(s) loaded I assume. BTW, I have to remove at least 1 or 2 of the orig setup codes to allow room for the new codes, all other functions on the remote remain intact. In particular my remote only is responding to the number keys and the power button for the dish 301 and the pansat 2500 codes. I'll upload as Bas%$#@directv_rev2_blue maybe someone can help.

lb,
First question, what version of IR.exe are you using?

You say that you are using files from the file section, could you please provide links to those files.

You say that you've loaded a file yourself for us to look at, could you please provide a link to that file also.

Keep in mind that it's the same handful of experts that help everybody here, so providing links makes our job easier. Without links, most of us will just skip by your thread.

Before you post the links, PLEASE read the "how to" thread in my sig, as I'm 100% confident that you will post bad links if you don't.
