Wanted: JP1 cable kit INCLUDING header AND EEPROM

I posted this in Beginner and it hasn't gotten any action, so I thought I'd put it here and see if I have better luck....

So I just got this 6131 remote, and I've been reading and learning about JP1, and it sounds fun as hell to play with. So I'd like to mod my remote and build a cable. Problem is, I can't find anyplace that has a cable kit that includes the EEPROM, they have the header, but no chip. I get the feeling this chip isn't available at my local Radio Shack, and it seems a shame to order one chip online from someone and then get soaked for S/H. So can anyone tell me if a cable kit exists that includes the parts I need to build the cable, the 6-pin header, AND an EEPROM? Thanks!

(Oh, and I've already asked Rob, apparently he's not selling the chips piecemeal anymore.)
